They're real!

The Geeky Chef blog has surpassed even my geekiness, and made it possible for us to bake Elven lembas bread, drink butterbeer, eat Seasalt icecream, or for the WoW fans, devour Barbecue Buzzard Wings. Find a food recipe from your favourite fantasy here, post the pic and fanboy/girl away!

There's a place here in Canada, Ottawa specifically, called Zaphod Beeblebrox. It caters to Douglas Adams fans. Of course, the drink they sell the most of is the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster.
I've always had a repulsive need to be something more than human.

I've seen the Harry Potter recipes, before, but I've never gotten around to making any of them.

I want to try the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster!
Give me what I want, and I'll go away...

The 1-up cupcakes are cute but I wanted toadstool cakes before I ever saw these. I wanted to make them red with big white chocolate dots, like fly agarics.

Pumpkin pasties are all over the place and have been around for a long, long time. I tried making them for the first time about 10 years ago when I got the recipe from a Wiccan friend. I have been known to make them around Halloween/Samhain if the mood strikes me. I have pumpkin I processed last year at the end of the season that I should defrost, now that it's on my mind...

But the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster is going to be on the menu at my next party.

I read in a book about wiccan fruit and spice bread eaten as part of the cakes and wine ceremony. It's bread, leavened with yeast, but has cinnamon and dried fruit kneaded in.

That giant cake is epic.

I know. Those 'pixels' on the sides aren't bits of paper, but either moulded fondant or piped on icing. And apparently the woman only does it as a hobby.

Cakewrecks is a great site, it's even got a dead bleeding raven cake on there somewhere.
