I watched the Initial D live action movie a few nights ago, I'm not too familiar with the anime or manga but I've seen a few scans and clips online. But the acting and writing was decent enough, although you still had your stock japanese comic relief characters. The racing scenes were really well shot though as there was none of the quick cut editing that the Fast and Furious movies feature, and certainly not as much CGI. There's only two scenes that have prominate CGI and it's because there's no other way of shooting it rather than just being lazy. So as far as someone who's never seen the anime goes, I liked it. I have been meaning to watch the anime for a while now so I'll probably get the S.A.V.E. editions in a couple weeks.

I think that cold I have never actually went away. I might have to find a doctor that'll take my base level employer health coverage.
